Diaper Distribution
The Diaper Bank of the Inland Empire addresses this community need by providing diapers/wipes to vulnerable families in need through three innovative and easy to access processes: Direct Distribution held at the Diaper Bank of the Inland Empire office; partnerships with community-based organizations in which the Diaper Bank provides diapers/wipes to their partners’ client families in need; and newly introduced (2024) mobile diaper distribution that is provided within high need communities to remove transportation as a barrier. Our partnership network continues to expand and includes multiple organizations throughout the Inland Empire: Inland Empire Health Plan, Community Settlement Association, Project Bridge, Learn for Life Charter Schools, University of California – Riverside Basic Needs, Riverside University Health System, Aspiranet, CSUSB, San Bernardino City College, Alvord School District, and San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. Through these partnerships, the diaper bank provides on-site distribution days and/or pre-confirmed diaper bundles to then be distributed to their clients.
As of January 2025, diaper distribution output has reached over 30,000 diapers per month and we anticipate 40,000 per month – a significant increase from 4,000/month during the program’s first year. With the addition of a mobile distribution van in late 2024, we anticipate seeing numbers above 20,000 diapers per month as we begin to provide consistent in the field distributions.
Why Diapers?
1 in 2
Families Experience Need
Parents living in poverty often have to choose between paying rent, buying food, or buying diapers - especially as welfare programs like food stamps and WIC do not cover the cost of diapers.
8 to 10
Diapers Needed Per Day
Licensed daycares also do not accept cloth diapers and require parents to provide 8-10 disposable diapers a day for their children, easily costing $100 per child per month.

Parents Miss Work
Without a sufficient supply of disposable diapers and access to licensed daycare, parents living in poverty are trapped - unable to take advantage of the educational or job opportunities that would help lift their families out of poverty.
